1881: Patrick Bannen’s Merchandise Store
Patrick Bannen from Prescott set up a merchandise store along what is now West Coconino Avenue, becoming the first establishment near the spring.
Local businessmen decided to name the post office and new settlement Flagstaff during meetings at this store.
